How much can I save?
In recent months energy prices for oil, gas and electricity have risen dramatically and it doesnt look like things are going to change any time soon.
Forward thinking people are realising more and more big savings can be made by using renewable energy. Your carbon footprint will also be dramatically reduced (assuming you will be using wood or wood pellets!)
To date all our customers have remarked upon the financial savings they have made purchasing their Mad About Heat boiler.
With your Mad About Heat boiler the thermostat can be set at for example 21 deg celsius constantly. This means your house will be kept at a steady temperature all the time and minimal energy will be used as the boiler will extract the maximum energy potential of your chosen fuel
.

The floor plan shown is for a four bedroom detached house set in the outskirts of a large village.
- It is approximately 3000 square feet (or 300 square metres) and moderately insulated.
- The house has 26 radiators.
- The inhabitants like a temperature of 21 degrees celsius and require a constant supply of hot water.
To heat this home in the Autumn/Winter time using heating oil costing about 60p/litre would cost about £290 per month. This also supplies the hot water.
If the inhabitants were to install a PBI boiler and use wood pellets to heat the radiators and hot water would cost around £180 per month. This is assuming wood pellet prices of £185 per tonne. This works out at about 45% less than burning oil, the beauty being the house will constantly be kept warm. Click here to view our range of PBI boilers.
If the homeowners were to install a WBI boiler heating costs would be drastically reduced assuming large supplies of fuel for example firewood, coal, peat etc were available. Click here to view our range of WBI bolers.
Fuel Prices
| Fuel Type | £ Per Tonne |
| Oil (Assuming 1200 litres) | £720 |
| Wood Pellets | £180 |
| Coal | £220 |
| Softwood Logs | £170 |
| Hardwood Logs | £185 |
| High Density Wood Briquettes | £340 |
It is obvious from the above table huge savings are possible with the installation of a new WB, WBI or PBI boiler. Indeed if you have access to your own fuel source your heating costs could be negligible.
Current fuel costs are set to continue to rise so be quick and order your new boiler without delay
Prices can vary according to region and are correct as of December 2011
